Renee Montgomery is a West Virginia native with 3 Girls State Basketball Championships, graduated from UConn as a 2x All-American with the undefeated Huskies in 2009 that also went on to win the NCAA Championship that same year. She was drafted fourth-overall in the WNBA and is a 2x WNBA champion, with accolades including All-Star & 6th Woman of the Year during her 11-year professional basketball career. In broadcasting, Montgomery serves as a sports analyst and host to multiple shows including “WNBA Weekly,” and her own podcast “Montgomery & Co.” Following her decision to sit-out of the 2020 WNBA season to focus on social justice reform, she decided to retire in February 2021 and later that month, became Co-owner and Vice President of the same team she played for, the Atlanta Dream. Making her the first WNBA player to become a partner and executive of a team in WNBA history.
