Cheraé Robinson is an entrepreneur, investor, cultural architect, and tinkerer currently leading Community at Flybridge Capital Partners. Her journey to venture started as a founder building Tastemakers Africa, an experiences marketplace connecting travelers to unique tours in African cities – Flybridge was the largest investor.
She is also the creator of “The Thread,” a community platform for the African diaspora built in response to the COVID-19 pandemic that reached 10,000 people monthly in the earliest days of lockdown.
Cheraé has been named one of “10 Emerging Women Entrepreneurs in Africa” by Forbes, “20 to Watch” by Culture Shift Labs, a “Woman to Watch” by the United Nations Foundation, and one of “”44 People Changing The Way We Travel”” by Condé Nast Traveler Magazine. She was pivotal in the success of “The Year of Return” in Ghana and is a pioneer in culturally immersive millennial travel.
She is co-host of “”It Just Got Real””, a podcast for unconventional, creative, women entrepreneurs, sits on the board of Birthright Africa, is a notorious foodie, and continues to be a bridge-builder to the African continent. Cheraé is passionate about creating optionality and opportunities for self-actualization and self-determination for people of color.
Cheraé graduated with a B.S. in Biology from Morgan State University. Before launching her career in tech, she sat at the intersection of science, storytelling, and partnerships at the CDC, CIMMYT/World Bank, and CARE. She resides in Brooklyn, NY with her son Trace and dog Tales. When not navigating the startup world she doubles as a DJ and has a monthly music residency at Babel Loft.
